The Auto LPG containers are subjected to a series of vigorous tests and consistent quality is successfully demonstrated through the tests mentioned below:

BONFIRE TEST
It is the most critical test and is designed to demonstrate that a container complete with all accessories as specified in the design, will not burst when tested under the specified fire conditions such as direct impingement of fire on the container filled with LPG,etc. This safe guards the end users in the event of a fire in the automobile.

Designed to demonstrate that a container complete with the fire protection system specified in the design qualifies the test requirements
CCOE Approved site in strict compliance to Explosive Rules to conduct Bonfire test as per safety Norms
Zero Failure on about 30 Occasions of Type Tests conducted in the presence of BIS,CCOE
A uniform fire source of 1.65 m long is provided by a Diesel Burner
Uniform heating is maintained throughout the test
Provision to Measure Temperature at 4 specified locations & at intervals of 30 sec is made
Qualified technicians conduct the test

CRASH TEST
It is the most stringent test and designed for ensuring the leak proof quality of the container when it is subjected to crash/collision against deformable wedge at a speed of Min.50 KM/H. Further after completion of the test the container shall show no leakage at a test pressure of 1.1Mpa.

A Horizontal & Un deformable Wedge defined by two faces of a dihedron of 90 Deg. Apex is used
Length of wedge > Container Length
Wedge is located perpendicular to drive direction of vehicle
Arrangement of the container to make a collision with the wedge at a min. speed of 50Km/hr existing
Manpower with technical know-how perform the test

FATIGUE TEST
It guarantees the minimum thickness of the container set by the design. During this test the container is filled with water and subjected to successive reversal of hydraulic pressure under specified cycles. The container is then subjected to burst test for conformity

Successive reversals of upper & lower cyclic pressures are given by hydro Pneumatic Pumps
Frequency of reversals of pressure < 0.25 Hz
Temperature measurement on outer surface at regular intervals done
Trained manpower conduct test

BURST TEST
Hydro Pneumatic Pump which enables the pressure to be increased at an even rate
Max Flow rate is ensured < 3% of the capacity of the container per minute
Measurement of Volumetric expansion of the container is made
Measurement of pressure is done at regular intervals

MECHANICAL TEST
Universal Testing Machine for Mechanical testing to find yield strength, UTS and elongation on test specimens of container along with attachment for bend test is used
Examination of full transverse section of weld by Macro etching is done
In-house Hardness testing facility existing

LEAK PROOF TEST
100% Containers are inspected for leak proof

RADIOGRAPHY TEST
Radiography on 2% of Containers production in consideration of weld joint factor 0.85
Radiography on 10% of Containers production in consideration of weld joint factor 1

VIBRATION TEST
